OMG 100 Snakes at one place - Watch Video

Odissa, June 24: In a bizarre incident, more than 100 baby cobras were rescued by the snake helpline from a person's house in Samapur village of the district on Saturday morning.

As per reports, the man named Bijay Bhuiyan had a termite mound in his house where he had spotted a cobra a few months back.

Yesterday, he saw few baby cobras coming out of the mound after which he called the snake helpline.Later, the officials recovered around 100 baby cobras from the mound.A huge crowd congregated at his house to see the poisonous snakes in such large quantity.Around 10-11 snakes died due to the effect of phenyl.



The snake helpline members are slated to leave the snakes in the nearby forest.

Special Relief Commissioner, Bishnupada Sethi said snakes kill more people in Odisha than floods, cyclones, drowning and fire mishaps.

Snakebite deaths, declared as state-specific disaster, account for about 37% of the total number of disaster deaths in the state. More than 1,700 people have died of snakebites in the last three years.
