BSNL to mount 4G Services

Hyderabad, June 14: In a good news for BSNL users, Before extending higher data speed to the customers in all the districts of Telangana(except Hyderabad) and Andhra Pradesh by December end this year, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), Telecom circle will launch 4G services in selected towns in both the states in August this year, its Telangana Circle Chief General Manager V Sundar said here on Wednesday.

The 4G services in Hyderabad will be rolled out by next year as it requires a huge number of towers in the city, Mr. Sundar said at a press conference here after launching a special enterprise plan for Patanjali Group.

A total of 409 e-Node's B (4G towers) is being installed in various districts with an investment of Rs 123 crore as part of the project to extend higher data speeds of 4G services to the customers of BSNL, he said

Similarly, 600 4G towers are being installed in all the districts of Andhra Pradesh this year with an investment of Rs 170 crore and higher data speed services would be launched during the same period in the neighboring state also, Mr. Sundar said.

Out of 64 metro stations along the Hyderabad Metro Rail Corridor, 2G and 3G services were planned, he said, adding that we have already started seamless 3G services to the customers of BSNL in 26 metro stations.

Though the Revenue had come down, the market share in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana registered at 11.83 per cent as on May 31, 2018, he claimed and said that BSNL has 1.01 crore mobile customers in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana including 2.30 lakh new connections added in the current year ( up to May 31, 2018).
