Lady Union Minister was eve-teased

Varanasi, June 12: In a shocking incident, Union Minister Anupriya Patel became a victim of eve-teasing in Uttar Pradesh. The incident took place as the Minister of State (MoS), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, was traveling in a car between Aurai and Mirzamurad regions on Monday night.

Patel was returning to Varanasi after attending programmes at her Lok Sabha constituency Mirzapur. Suddenly, three men traveling in a car without a number plate tried to overtake the cavalcade of the minister. The trio was warned by the minister's security personnel.

However, the accused persons ignored all warnings hurled indecent comments towards Patel and misbehaved with the security men.

The minister complained about the matter to Varanasi SSP R K Bhardwaj, who launched a drive to trace the whereabouts of the trio. The trio has now been arrested by Mirzamurad police and their car confiscated, the police said.
