Vajpayee admitted in AIIMS hospital

New Delhi, June 12: In a shocking news, The Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who has been admitted to Delhi's All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) will remain in the hospital, for now, the latest health bulletin issued by the top hospital said on Tuesday.

Vajpayee, 93, is said to be suffering from urinary tract infection. A team of top doctors is keeping a tab on Vajpayee's health in the hospital.

A battery of leaders, including PM Narendra Modi, Congress president Rahul Gandhi met the ailing former PM at AIIMS on Monday.

"His condition is stable. He is responding to treatment and is on injectable antibiotics. All his vital parameters are stable. He will continue to be in hospital till infection is controlled," AIIMS said in a statement.

A senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Atal Bihari Vajpayee was the first non-Congress prime minister who served a full five-year term in office. Atal Bihari Vajpayee is currently the oldest living former prime minister. He was a Parliamentarian for over four decades.
