Mumbai updates: 3 coaches of Howrah Mail derailed

Mumbai, June 10: In a ghastly incident,Three coaches of Mumbai-Howrah Mail train were derailed near Igatpuri railway station in Maharashtra in the early hours on Sunday. No casualties were reported in the accident.

The Central Railway chief public relations officer Sunil Udasi said that three coaches of 12809 Mumbai-Howrah Mail derailed shortly after 2 am on Sunday. Bogies S-12, S-13 and pantry car of the Mumbai-Howrah mail derailed.

Rescue and relief operations have already begun and security forces have been rushed to the spot. As many as 12 trains on the route have been canceled.

The rail traffic was affected for a while but Railway officials said it was restored soon. Media reported that 12 trains on the route were canceled while one was short terminated. 7 trains were initially diverted due to the affected line.
