Kaala: Karnataka High court verdict on ban

Bangalore, June 04: In a major relief to Rajinikanth fans, The Karnataka High Court has given green signal to release 'Kaala' in Karnataka here on Tuesday.

the Court has asked the lawyers of the film to give the details of theatres and exhibitors to the state government and has asked the state to give protection to the concerned theatres.

However, the court has added that it can't interfere in the ban.

For the past few days, there is a huge confusion surrounding the release of the Rajinikanth-starrer in Karnataka. Few fringe groups were enraged by the statements made by Rajinikanth regarding the Cauvery water issue and called for a ban on his upcoming film.

After the statements of the court, KFCC has said that they will follow the orders of High Court and will not take decisions on its own.

On the other hand, talking to media, a source close to Wunderbar films, said, "We have now got the green signal to release the film. Government is asked to give security to the theatres. So, we are going ahead with the release of the film."

Kaala, directed by Pa Ranjith, also stars Nana Patekar, Huma Qureshi, and Samuthirakani in lead roles. The film will release worldwide on June 7th.
