Facebook to remove this feature

New Delhi, June 02: The Social Media Gaint Facebook will be removing the trend features in coming days, the officials Said here on Friday.

Coming to details, "From research we found that over time people found the product to be less and less useful. We will remove Trending from Facebook next week and we will also remove products and third-party partner integrations that rely on the Trends API," Faccebook's head of news products, Alex Hardiman, said in a blog post on Friday.

She said that this feature was launched in 2014 and reminded her that the feature had been facilitating the attractive topic in Facebook, and that after the changing circumstances, video news became popular.So we decided to remove the trending feature.

Facebook said at the time that it had hoped to completely automate the trending section and fired its human curators.

"We've seen that the way people consume news on Facebook is changing to be primarily on mobile and increasingly through news video," Hardiman wrote in the Facebook blog post.
