Two-day Bank employees strike: Shocking effect

Hyderabad, June 01: The two-day strike by public sector bank employees for wage hike has ended and banking operations have resumed from today.

Nearly 10 lakh bank employees across the country participated in the strike and seriously affected banking transactions. Over 80 lakh clearance checks were stopped during these two days.

In accordance with the analyzation of Banking, sector experts estimate that over Rs. 20,000 crore transactions have been affected.

As many as 80 lakh clearance Checks pending (Indian Industries, Commerce Federation) will take at least a week or so, ASSOCHAM estimated.

Reportedly, The ASSOCHAM spokesperson informed: Besides the daily checks, an additional 100,000 checks will be cleared every day.
