Telangana to become Pollution Free

Hyderabad, May 26: The Telangana government is planning to purchase 500 electric buses in order to reduce the pollution levels in the city, said Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao here on Friday.

The Minister said the conventional diesel buses would be removed in a phased manner and the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has already pressed electric vehicles into service for its garbage collection, he said.

Addressing the 'Mana Nagaram', an interactive program, where the Minister interacted with the citizens and addressed their long-pending grievances at Kukatpally, Rao appealed to the citizens to be more responsible and sensitive towards civic issues.

"I want people to actively participate in different programmes for transforming Hyderabad into a global city," said Rao.
