Airtel kicks off JIO, BSNL

Hyderabad, May 19: Bharti Airtel is now offering its customers unlimited data on prepaid recharge offers even after they exhaust their daily data.

This is because Airtel has increased the after FUP speed limits for its prepaid subscribers to 128Kbps. This puts the Bharti Airtel in line with Reliance Jio and BSNL, who have FUP speeds with 128kbps that make data plans work as unlimited plans, though at reduced speeds.

All prepaid plans above Rs 199, will now offer "Unlimited Data," which means once the daily limit is hit, the speed will be throttled to 128Kbps. Well, it's not fast enough for streaming videos or downloading, but its ideal for WhatsApp messages.

To give an example, the base Rs 199 prepaid pack comes with 1.4GB daily data, but if this was exhausted the user could not continue to browse. However, the new post-FUP speeds mean they will continue to get internet, but at lower speeds of 128Kbps.
