Chandrababu Naidu responds over Karnataka Politics

Prakasam, May 17: The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday described the Governor's invite to BS Yeddyurappa to form the government in Karnataka as "undemocratic" and underlined the need of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) coming to power once again is imperative to AP.

While addressing a programme in Kandukur in Prakasam district on Thursday, the chief minister said that the Congress and the JD(S) had enough majority to form the government but the Governor invited BS Yeddyurappa, who did not have a majority to form a government. "The BJP talked about democratic values but what it is doing now," he asked.

Recalling the political happenings in Andhra Pradesh in 1984, he explained that the Congress undemocratically dethroned the then chief minister NT Rama Rao. The TDP launched a massive protest across the state, which forced the then prime minister Indira Gandhi to reinstate NTR.

Naidu said, "It is necessary that the TDP should come to power in AP in 2019 to carry forward the development work. Despite less resources, more development is being achieved in the state, but the Opposition leaders are making baseless allegations against the government".
