BJP demands apology from CM Chandrababu Naidu over attack

Tirupati, May 12: As we know that, Telugu Desam activists reportedly attacked the convoy of Bharatiya Janata Party national president Amit Shah on his way to Ramachandrapuram Ashramam from Tirumala on Friday, apparently in protest against the Centre's refusal to confer Special Category Status on Andhra Pradesh.

According to a media report, Amit Shah had gone with his family to visit Tirumala when Telugu Desam cadres also raised slogans against the BJP chief, chanting ‘Go back, Amit Shah’.

BJP MLC P.V.N. Madhav led a protest by BJP workers with black badges near the Gandhi statue at GVMC condemning the 'attack' on party President Amit Shah’s convoy in Tirupati and demanding an apology from the Chief Minister.

Mr. Madhav said such acts would not be tolerated. The Home Minister, who had failed to maintain law and order, should resign, he demanded. The protestors raised slogans against the Chief Minister and the TDP.

Party leaders Durga Raju, P.V. Narayana Rao, Surendra Mohan, Ravindra Reddy, Kesava Kant and Vijayananda Reddy participated.
