Mahanati touches half million mark in US, beats NSNI

Hyderabad, May 11: Tollywood recent released prestigious film 'Mahanati', the biopic of legendary actress Savitri, directed by Nag Ashiwn, which was released on 9th May, is receiving a positive response from everywhere.

"It is a fitting tribute to Savitri" is the common declaration on social media. Keerthy Suresh reprised the role of Savitri whereas Dulquer Salmaan played Gemini Ganesan. Akkineni Nagarjuna's son Naga Chaitanya played the cameo and made his screen presence as his grandfather ANR. Samantha Akkineni and Vijay Devarakonda played a journalist in Mahanati.

On Tuesday, Mahanati collected $303,456 at the US box office in the preview shows and became the fourth biggest Tollywood opener of 2018, and beaten Allu Arjun and Anu Emmanuel starrer Naa Peru Surya.

The Industry tracker and trade analyst Idlebrain Jeevi tweeted, "#Mahanati collects $303,456 from 143 USA locations with a per-location average of $2,122. 4th biggest premiere number for Telugu film in USA this year after #Agnyathavasi, #BharathAneNenu & #Rangasthalam "

Mahanati earned $202,000 at the US box office on the first day, taking its total to $505,456 in the country.
