CM KCR holds new record in the history of the nation

Hyderabad, May 08: Telangana Chief Minister sets a new record by visiting Secretariat for less than 25 times in the last four years.

In General, Secretariat is the highest seat of administration in any state. All the top officials, right from Chief Secretary to the departmental heads, would operate from there and all the administrative decisions are taken in the state secretariat.

Needless to say, it is a functioning center for the chief minister and his cabinet colleagues. All of them have to invariably come to the secretariat to interact with officials, review the progress of implementation of various developmental activities, meet the people coming to them with various representatives etc.

Periodically, the chief minister holds cabinet meetings in Secretariat and occasionally addresses press conferences.

It has been four years since Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao took over as the chief minister of the new state. But in the last four years, he had hardly visited the Secretariat.

According to a report that appeared in a vernacular daily, KCR had visited the Secretariat for less than 25 times in the last four years. Most of the visits were only during his early days of coming to power.

"It is a new record in the history of the country that a chief minister coming to his office in the Secretariat for such a less number of times," the report said.

All his official meetings have been taking place only in Pragathi Bhavan. Since most of the decisions are taken by the chief minister himself, the ministers, too, have stopped going to Secretariat and they go only to Pragathi Bhavan to attend the CM’s meetings.

Even the cabinet meetings are also held in Pragathi Bhavan.

In the past, people used to go Secretariat to represent on their issues. Now, they are not able to meet anybody there and they do not have access to the Pragati Bhavan.

Unless KCR wants to meet any section of people, they are brought to Pragathi Bhavan. Otherwise, it is extremely difficult for the ordinary people to meet him.

Forget the common man, even the MLAs and MPs, who had free access to the CM’s chamber in Secretariat, are forced to wait for hours to get into Pragathi Bhavan now. And for the Opposition parties' leaders, getting KCR's appointment is a far cry!
