Internal war in Congress: Jana Reddy declares to be next

Hyderabad, May 06: The upcoming assembly elections of Telangana will face the toughest war between political Parties. It is nearly one year to go for elections in Telangana and there is no clarity as to which party has an edge.

Before commencing of elections, internal war has erupted in Congress party for the chief minister's post. While Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president has already been projecting himself as the future CM of the state, making all kinds of promises to the people left, right and the centre, other seniors are openly questioning his credentials.

Senior Congress leader K Jana Reddy on Saturday expressed his desire to become the CM of the state at least once during his lifetime.

"There are many leaders in the party who want to become the chief minister. Everybody claims he or she has the seniority and eligibility to get on to the hot seat. But they are mistaken if they think they are more experienced and eligible than me," Jana said.

He said everybody would agree that there was no better leader than him to become the chief minister.

Jana Reddy also felt that the Congress party would have come to power in Telangana, had it granted the statehood six months ahead of 2014 elections.

"But it was risky for the party. All the 25 MPs from Seemandhra region would have resigned in protest and the UPA government would have collapsed. That was precisely why, the Congress took the decision at the eleventh hour which was in a way a correct decision," the Congress legislature party leader said.
