Rajnikanth's next with Mercury director

Hyderabad, Apr 26: After Kabali, many felt that Rajinikanth collaboration with Pa Ranjith was a one-time affair.

While it was speculated that Rajinikanth would once again go back to doing massy films, he surprised us all by teaming up with Ranjith again for Kaala. He plays an ageing don in the movie, which is slated to hit the theatres on April 27.

Now that Rajinikanth has announced that he is foraying into politics, a lot is riding on his choice of films. It is either films or politics for him. Since he has chosen politics, he needs to bid adieu to films with a bang (much like in his films).

And yet again, he swept us off our feet by announcing that he is teaming up with Karthik Subbaraj for his next film.

Earlier, Rajnikanth has praised Karthik Subbaraj for his silent thriller film Mercury starred with Prabhu Deva.

On the otherhand, Rajnikanth's is wrapped up for 2.O movie,being directed by Shankar and Akshay Kumar will be the antogonist.
