Three arrested for possessing ganza,seized

Vishakapatnam, Apr 22: On a tip-off, The city police on Saturday arrested three people and seized 26 kgs of Ganja and two cell phones from their possession.

On credible information, East Zone Task Force team arrested K Rambabu (30), farmer of Vizag, K Prasanth (23) and K Indira (23) students of Vizag at Langer House when they were trying to sell the Ganja. Mahesh (25) and Sudarshan (28) of Vizag are absconding in the case, police said.

During interrogation the accused confessed that, they were native of Vizag in Andhra Pradesh. Rambabu eke out his livelihood by doing agriculture. Rambabu's wife Indira and his co-brother Prashanth are pursuing their graduations. They were facing financial problem. On the direction of Sudharshan, they agreed to transport Ganja from Vizag to Hyderabad on commission basis.

On April 20 they started from Vizag to Hyderabad by train along with Ganja and they got down at Secunderabad Railway station on Saturday. As per instructions of Mahesh , they boarded an auto and reached Lunger House to delivery the Ganja. In the meantime Police intervened and arrested them. Efforts were being made to nab the absconding accused.

The accused and seized property were handed over to Langer House Police Station, for taking further action, police added.
