Fake Currency Busted in Karnataka

Bangalore, April 18: Ahead of Karnataka Elections, The Fake currency has been seized by the Karnataka Police officials here on today.A cache of fake currency, designed to imitate notes of Rs. 2,000 value, were seized by police officials.

The Value of Fake currency is expected about 7 crores, The accused were caught in Belagavi city, also known as Belgaum in Karnataka.

Police have registered a case against the accused and one person has been arrested in connection with the case.

This incident comes ahead of the Karnataka Assembly elections that will begin on May 12 and when there is a cash crunch in the state.

Police suspect they could have been printed by unscrupulous fake currency suppliers to be inserted into bundles of real notes.

Commissioner of Police D.C. Rajappa said an investigation has been ordered
