Hyderabad bags 1st rank in JLLs 2018 Global City Momentum Index

Hyderabad, Apr 02: The Telangana's Capital Hyderabad has been ranked the top city in the short-term Momentum Ranking of JLL's annual global survey.

The 'CMI Short-Term Momentum rankings' published by Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) features Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Pune and Kolkata among the top five cities with Delhi, Chennai and Mumbai also earning a spot among the top 20 in the Global Top 30 index.

The report identifies urban economies and real estate markets which are currently undergoing the most rapid growth further ranking them considering their performance based on various parameters.

Indian cities performed extremely well with rankings - Hyderabad (1st), Bengaluru (2nd), Pune (4th), Kolkata (5th) and Delhi (8th) in the top 10 cities while Chennai (14th) and Mumbai (20th) featured in the 30 top global short-term growth cities.

The key parameters considered for the rankings include population, economic output, connectivity, construction, retail sales, property prices, corporate activities, and real estate investments,

Hyderabad and Bengaluru, have been India's leading tech hubs. Hyderabad has picked pace off late on account of favourable government policies which garnered a positive impact on the office market in the city with global brands such as Deloitte, Qualcomm and Microsoft among the companies which have established themselves in the market.

According to the report, the Asia Pacific region accounted for 25 out of the 30 global cities listed with Indian cities dominating the rankings.
