TPCC demands action against CM KCR and Finance Minister over CAG Report

Hyderabad, Apr 02: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Capt N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Sunday alleged that the TRS Government, led by Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao, has committed a serious economic offense and therefore, it should go.

Talking to newsmen along with AICC Secretary R C Khuntia, Leader of Opposition in Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir, MLA Revanth Reddy and other leaders before leaving for Ramangundam to launch the second phase of Praja Chaitanya Bus Yatra from here, Mr Uttam said that the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG), in its latest report, has exposed that the TRS Government has 'fudged' budget figures showing loans as Revenue.

He said this was done not only to mislead the people to show Telangana as richest and revenue surplus State, but also to cheat financial institutions to get more loans. He said that Chandrashekhar Rao's Government has committed a serious economic crime which is unprecedented in the entire country.

He said Congress party was exploring all legal means to take action against the Chief Minister, Finance Minister, Finance Secretary and other concerned officials who manipulated figures to show a deficit budget as revenue surplus budget. Mr. Reddy said the TRS Govt has also violated the FRBM ceiling of 3.5 percent and borrowed loans up to 4.8 percent and added this violation was another economic offense which badly hurts the interest of Telangana people and the future generations.

The TPCC Chief said that the CAG has also exposed the diversion of funds from SC Sub-Plan for other purposes. He alleged that the TRS Government has been wasting public money and securing huge loans for various projects only to get a commission from contractors. He said the TRS Government has lost moral grounds to continue in power after the CAG exposure.
