Mohammed Shamis wife meets Delhi Daredevils Officials

Kolkata, April 01: Indian Fast bowler Mohammed Shami has been cleared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) after the cricketer's estranged wife alleged him to be involved in match-fixing, but Hasin Jahan has now sought help from Shami's Indian Premier League (IPL) employers Delhi Daredevils, requesting them to bar her husband from playing in the coming season of the league.

After meeting DD CEO, Jahan told media, “I kept my point in front of Hemant sir to not keep Shami in the IPL team until he resolves his family feud.”

Shami was retained by Delhi Daredevils during the IPL auctions.

The fast bowler is currently booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including an attempt to murder, on his wife’s complaint.

Delhi Daredevils had retained Shami in the IPL auction this January by using the 'Right to Match' for Rs 3 crore.

Following an all-clear from its anti-corruption unit, the BCCI offered Shami the Grade B contract that was initially withheld following Jahan's allegations.
