Minister KTR laid foundation stone for 160 2BHK houses

Wanaparthy, Mar 31: The Telangana Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development KT Rama Rao blamed Congress and TDP for wilfully neglecting Palamuru region for 67 years of their rule.

Speaking at a public meeting in Madanapuram Mandal headquarters after laying the foundation stone for construction of 160 2BHK houses on Friday, he came down heavily on both the parties.

"In the past 67 years, we have had many central cabinet ministers, ministers, even chief ministers from Palamuru region. There were those who said they would adopt this region and made all kinds of promises. If they would have done something this region wouldn't have been known for migrant labour," he said.

Specifically targeting the Congress, he said that the party was having an identity crisis after seeing development in Telangana and added that the Congress leaders had no moral ground to question the work of the TRS government.

"We have given irrigation water to 6.5 lakh acres in our first 3.5 years of rule and we will not rest until we give water to an ayacut of 14 lakh acres under Palamuru- Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Project," he added.

He said that declaring 2,600 hamlets as gram panchayats was Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's way of repaying the people of Palamuru, the constituency he was representing at the time of formation of Telangana.
