AP CM :TDPs struggle for SCS reached people

Amaravati, Mar 23: The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party National President N Chandrababu Naidu said that the struggle, being carried out by the party MPs had reached the people of the state strongly and asked the MPs to be prepared to face any hindrances.

The Chief Minister held a teleconference with the MPs and other Senior leaders on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the resentment, being expressed by the TDP MPs inside and outside of the Parliament had reached the people of the state strongly and the success of National Highways blockade, organised on Thursday, clearly indicate that the people are angry at the Centre for not granting Special Category Status (SCS).

Taking a dig at the Opposition YSRCP, the Chief Minister said that the farmer was demanding only the grant of SCS, ignoring the AP Reorganisation Act assurances. Conspiracy is being hatched against Andhra Pradesh by a National Party to strengthen itself in South India, he feared. Mr Naidu opined that credibility is very important to any political party.

Meanwhile, TDP MPs continued their protest at Gandhi statue in the Parliament premises on Friday too. They held placards and raised slogans demanding granting of SCS to AP. Talking to media, TDP MP Galla Jayadev feared that the Centre might create more troubles to AP in the coming years.
