TS Govt sanctions Rs.14,133 crores for Hyderabad Metro works

Hyderabad, Mar 21: The Telangana Minister for Municipal Administration KT.Rama Rao told the state Assembly on Tuesday, The TS government has sanctioned Rs.14,133 crore for works under the Hyderabad Metro, a rapid transit system.

During Question Hour, he said the Metro works from Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station to the Jubilee Bus Station were under progress adding the metro project from Falaknuma to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport was on the anvil.

He assured the members that all the metro works including those located in the old city would be completed.

It may be mentioned that the first phase of the Hyderabad Metro comprising the 30 kms stretch from Miyapur to Nagole having 24 stations was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narender Modi in November last year.

The total stretch of the metro project is 72 kms covering three main transport corridors.

Earlier, the day's proceedings of the Assembly and Council began on a calm note.Later in the day, the house will resume discussion on the state's Annual Budget.
