Agriculture gets new boost in TS Budget

Hyderabad Mar 15: The Telangana State Government has presented the budget in the state assembly. State Finance Minister Etela Rajender has read the budget speech.

The State budget has mainly focused on the Agriculture and welfare of the rural Economy and has allocated major funds. The Budget has also focussed on Irrigation projects.

RS 12000 crore was allocated for the farmer input subsidy on fertilizers under this scheme RS 8000 would be given for farmer for two crops.

RS 500 Crores have been allocated for Crop insurance under which an Insurance of Rs 5 lakh would be given to farmers.

RS 552 CR has been allocated for the Mechanization of Agriculture and subsidy is been given to buy tractors and other modern equipment.

RS 15780 CR has been allocated for strengthening the market yards in the state so that farmers get the right price for his produce

RS 132 CR has been allocated for cold storage linkage
RS 127 CR for Micro irrigation has been allocated
RS 120 Cr has been allocated for Greenhouse and Poly house cultivation

The budget has also allocated RS 25,000 CR for irrigation projects.

FM has said that "steps would be ensured that all irrigation projects would be completed on time."

Earlier the state had proposed a separate agricultural budget but it was dropped because of constitutional rules.
