Patanjali New strategy on IPL

Mumbai Mar 15: In a Move to ensure that Local sports are encouraged Patanjali has decided to sponsor local sports and has dropped the idea of promoting and advertising in the Indian Premier League.

Patanjali has said that "The sport (in this case, IPL) as it is, promotes consumerism and is sponsored by multinationals. Patanjali will invest in sports which are Indian and promote Indian sports at the grassroots such as wrestling and kabaddi."

Patanjali is a Company founded by Yoga Guru Ramdev and has the sponsorship of pro wrestling league. It had also co-sponsored Kabbadi World Cup two years back.

The company has added that "We will continue to invest in local sports which promote the culture of the country."
