Nepalese wanted criminal arrested on tip-off by Interpol- India

New Delhi, March 12: Nepalese fugitive Lodu Dime, accused of smuggling body parts of tigers, has been arrested in Kathmandu following tip-off by National Central Bureau (Interpol)-India, an official said on Monday.

Dime, held at the Kathmandu airport on March 5, was sentenced by a Nepal court to five years in jail in connection with the seizure of seven sackfuls of tiger body parts on January 12, 2013.

The smuggler was absconding ever since. Nepalese Police issued an Interpol Red Notice in February against Dime, which was circulated to all 192 member-countries by the Interpol Headquarters in Lyon in France.

The NCB-India spotted the smuggler at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi on March 5 and tipped off Nepal authorities when he took a flight for Kathmandu.
