TFFC Indefinite strike, Qube reduces Fees

Chennai Mar 12: In a Move to ensure that Movies are released in Tamilnadu the Digital Service Provider Qube has revised its rate card offered for the Movie producers, Theatre owners, and Distributors.

However, the Tamilnadu Film Producers council have partially agreed to the new rates proposed and said that they would continue their indefinite strike from March 16.

TFFC has stated that "From March 16 all Film related activities such as shooting, post production, screening, press meets would be halted till our demands are met".

TFFC has demanded that "Theatres owners must have the right to choose his DSP and they have also demanded the govt to streamline the licensing mechanism and reduce the entertainment tax and the theatres must be granted freedom ".

Experts said that this move would impact the movies that would be
released during this summer.
