INX Media money laundering case: CBI arrests Karti Chidambaram

New Delhi, Feb 28: The CBI on Wednesday arrested Karti Chidambaram at Chennai airport in connection with the INX money laundering case.
He was taken into custody at the Chennai airport this morning just after he landed on a flight from London.
He is currently being questioned inside the airport and will be taken to Delhi later in the day, sources said.
Meanwhile Congress leader, Randeep Surjewala, lashed out at the Modi government for pursuing vendetta politics. He also said that the Congress party will continue to fight for truth.
An FIR filed by the CBI on 15 May last year had alleged irregularities in the FIPB clearance to INX Media for receiving overseas funds to the tune of Rs305 crore in 2007 when Chidambaram was the Union finance minister. It is alleged Karti had received funds to the tune of Rs10 lakh in the case, they said.
