Nestle to reduce salt content in Noodles

Mumbai Feb 26: In a Move to ensure that nutrition levels in the processed foods are increased and to improve the health of people Global food giant Nestle has decided to cut down the salt content in the Noodles it manufactures.

Company chairman Suresh Narayanan on Monday has said that "We are evolving a structure to divide markets into 10-15 clusters, and are segmenting product variants, distribution, sales, marketing and communication in relevant geographies ."

He added that "the company is working on reducing salt and sodium content in Maggi noodles by 10% over the next 12-18 months, in line with evolving consumer preferences ."

Suresh has added that "Nestle has reduced sodium and salt content in Maggi noodles by about a third over the past few years, and last year, reduced sugar content in chocolate brand Milkybar and Milo milk drink."

Currently, the food company manufactures many processed foods and has a strong brand presence across the globe.
