IT Dept attaches properties of Mehul Choksi in the PNB Scam

New Delhi Feb 20 : A Bigger scam has been identified in recent days and the Massive default of loan of Rs 11400 Cr by Jeweler Nirav Modi to Punjab National bank has shaken the nation. Currently, many agencies are investigating the case.

The Income Tax Department today attached seven properties of the Gitanjali Group and its promoter Mehul Choksi in Mumbai in connection with a tax evasion probe against them. The department issued an order for provisional attachment of flats and buildings of these entities, which are located in the Opera House, Bandra, Andheri, Wadala and Walkeshwar Road areas of the Maharashtra capital,

IT officials have said that "four of these attached assets were in the name of Gitanjali Gems Limited, two were in the name of Mehul Chinubhai Choksi and one in the name of Gili India Limited."

The I-T department had also attached 29 properties and 105 bank accounts of beleaguered diamond jewelry designer Nirav Modi and his family last week.
