Voters list inconsistency reported by Congress to EC

Madhya Pradesh, Feb 19: The Congress on Monday approached the Election Commission to complain of "massive discrepancies" in the voters list ahead of the two assembly bypolls in Madhya Pradesh, accusing the state's BJP government of "conspiring to murder democracy".

The party delegation, which included party leader Randeep Singh Surjewala, Mohan Prakash, R.P.N Singh and others, said that the Election Commission promised appropriate action.

Briefing media persons after the meeting, Surjewala said that the delegation raised several important issues pertaining to the two assembly bypolls in Madhya Pradesh - Mungaoli and Kolaras.

"The Shivraj Singh Chouhan-led BJP government is hatching a conspiracy for murdering democracy. The manner in which they are putting pressure on the voters and influencing them... The Chief Minister is rattled," he added.
