Kenya's Innovative solution

Kenya Feb 19: Kenya's Lamu island is picturesque and attracts many tourists.European Royalty built mansions in the island and these had led to increase in the number of tourists. Donkeys are another special attraction of the Island.

However, these days the increased usage of plastic has led to the destruction of some parts of the island. Recently A tourist organization has picked up 33 tonns of plastic waste and they wanted to find a solution for this menace.

Currently, the waste has led to the death of the donkeys, turtles and other animals found in the sea.The island is also famous for Traditional boat Dhow which is made from wood.Currently, the boat builders are facing a shortage of wood for building the boats. keeping both the problems in mind the Tourist organization has decided to build the traditional boat using plastic waste.

Finally, the tourist's organization have developed the boats using plastic waste and this led to increase in income of boat builders and the populations of the donkeys have also grown up. the Kenyan Government has also taken steps not to repeat in the increase of plastic waste and has imposed penalty of $4000 or 4 years imprisonment for throwing plastic waste in public places.

The local residents thanked the tourist organization for there support and said that they would continue building boats with plastic waste.
