KCR birthday celebrations held in Andhra Pradesh

Hyderabad, Feb 17: TRS President and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Saturday turned 64 and the people of Telangana celebrated the special day with grandeur.

This is the first time that the birthday of KCR, as he is commonly called, is being celebrated on this scale ever since he assumed the office in 2014. Rao played a key role in the creation of the Telangana state after the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.

Pragati Bhavan witnessed large crowds who gathered to wish KCR from all over the state. Special pujas and homams were performed in almost all the major temples in Telangana.

Chief Minister KCR's birthday celebrations were held at Tenali in Guntur district. The celebrations were held under the guidance of the KCR fan president Khader.

Rao was born on 17 February 1954 in the Medak District of what is now in Telangana
