Yash Chopra Award: Emotional Reunion for Rekha & Asha Bhosle

Mumbai, Feb 17: Legendary playback singer Asha Bhosle was presented with the Yash Chopra Memorial Award on 16 February at a star hotel in Mumbai.

Bhosle, 84, whose illustrious music career spans nearly seven decades and recorded over 11,000 songs in 20 different languages, was selected for the award instituted in the memory of the filmmaker.

The fifth recipient of the award, the singer was felicitated by Rekha who shared her memories of Asha even as she kissed and even touched the latter’s feet. Also present at the event were Pam Chopra, Alka Yagnik, Jackie Shroff, Parineeti Chopra, Poonam Dhillon and Jaya Prada.

She was conferred with Yash Chopra Memorial Award for her outstanding contribution to the Hindi film industry. Rekha also said that she has a special place in her heart for Bhosle and Lata Mangeshkar
