Actor Kamal hassan shocked over Judgement on cauvery River

Bengaluru Feb 16: The Supreme Court on Friday has delivered a Key long-standing issue of Cauvery river water sharing between Karnataka and Tamilnadu states.

The court in its judgment has ordered the Karnataka government to release 177 TMC of Cauvery water to Tamilnadu and the Kannada state would get an increased allocation of 14.75 TMc water and Bengaluru city would get an additional 4.7 TMC water which would be used for drinking purposes. The Total allocation of Karnataka is now 284.5 TMC.

Actor Kamal Hassan has reacted on the verdict and said that "I am also shocked at the reduction in the supply of water. I have to get more details about the actual judgment but I think Supreme Court firmly said that water can't be owned by any state. That's a consoling factor."

He has also added that "There should be unity between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, only then can we think of river-linking projects. People using this verdict to score political points are wrong. Even though we have been given less water, we must find ways to save it."
