KUDA to develop Thousand pillar temple under HRIDAY Scheme

Hanamkonda Feb 11: An iconic and natural heritage construction would soon get a facelift .Kakatiya Urban Development Authority (KUDA) has decided to fast-track the beautification process of Thousand Pillar temple located in the hanamkonda city.

The Urban Development Authority had already started work at the temple under the National Heritage City Development and Augmentation Yojana (HRIDAY) scheme.

KUDA Officials have said that "we would pay about Rs 6 crore to those living near the temple as compensation by acquiring 2.5 acres of the land."

"We are contemplating developing a beautiful landscape garden on the premises of this temple constructed in 1163 AD by the great king of the Kakatiya dynasty, Rudra Deva." they added.

Sources said that "As a part of the augmentation of the facilities, KUDA will remove the structures, including the residences and commercial establishments, near the temple."

Officials added that beautification works would pick up the place once the land is acquired and currently temple renovation works have been fast-tracked and would be completed soon.
