North Korea ,South Korea Unites for Winter Olympics

PYEONGCHANG, Feb 10: The winter Olympics in Korea have begun on Friday and a spectacular show has been put by the players on an opening day. The Opening ceremony was glittering with exploding fireworks.

Both North Korea and South Korea leader, Kim Jong Un and South Korean President Moon Jae-in have shaken hands and they watched an elaborate show of light, sound, and human performance.

North and South Korean athletes entered Olympic Stadium together, waving flags showing a unified Korea. South Korean president has said that "Athletes from the two Koreas will work together for victory, and that will resonate with and be remembered in the hearts of people around the world as a sign of peace."

The games feature 102 events in fifteen sports disciplines, including the addition of big air snowboarding, mass start speed skating, mixed doubles curling, and mixed team alpine skiing to the Winter Olympic programme.
