US Govt shutdown Averted

Washington Feb 10: A major Government shutdown in the US has been averted after Congress passed and President Donald Trump signed a law a temporary spending deal expected to push budget deficits past $1 trillion annually with new military and domestic outlays.

White House official said that "But Trump is expected to unveil on Monday a fiscal 2019 budget plan that will be based on rosy assumptions, including the economic growth of 3.2 percent next year".

Earlier the government had shut down on Friday for some time as the first temporary extension of the government had lapsed on Friday morning.

The Government in January was shut for 3 days during the Jan 20-22 after the Congress had failed to pass the bill but later the shutdown has been ended as both houses passed a bill to extend the funding for 3 weeks.
