PM Narendra Modi's wife suffers minor injuries in road accident in Rajasthan

Rajasthan, Feb 07: The Prime Minister Narendra Modi's wife Jashodaben had a narrow escape when an Innova car she was traveling in, rammed a truck near Chittor, Rajasthan.

Jashodaben, two other women and an SPG commando were injured and the driver of the car in which they were traveling was killed in a road accident near Begu on the Kota-Chittorgarh four-lane highway in Rajasthan on Wednesday.

"Jasodaben is okay. She's (in) comfort. She is getting primary health check-up done," said Suresh Khatik, the sub-divisional magistrate of Chittorgarh.

The car was moving from Atru in Baran district to Udaipur when it hit a trailer truck after the truck driver applied the brakes suddenly.

Police said Ms. Jashodaben and the two women were admitted to the district government hospital in Chittorgarh and treated for minor injuries.

The commando was stated to be in a serious condition.

The deceased driver was identified as Basant.
