Odisha Feb 6: India has successfully today tested Agni-1 missile.Defense sources have said that "Agni 1 is a short-range nuclear-capable ballistic missile with a strike range of over 700 km from a test range off the Odisha coast".
Defense ministry has added that "The indigenously developed surface-to-surface missile was launched as a part of a periodic training activity by the Strategic Forces Command (SFC) of the Army to consolidate operational readiness."
"The state-of-the-art missile was launched around 8.30 am from a mobile launcher at Pad 4 of the Integrated Test Range (ITR) at the Dr. Abdul Kalam Island, formerly known as Wheeler Island".
