SC To hear Plea against Jet Airways- Etihad Airways deal

New Delhi Feb 6: The Supreme Court on Monday said that "it would start the final hearing on the plea of BJP leader Subramanian Swamy, seeking the quashing of the deal between Jet Airways and Abu Dhabi-based Etihad Airways, after 12 weeks."

Earlier the Court has asked the BJP MP to modify his plea and urged him to challenge the bilateral agreement between India and the UAE on increasing the number of flights between the two countries.

The bench has said that "we will list it for hearing after 12 weeks". Earlier the Court has also urged the Swamy to include private airlines in his plea and the MP has amended his plea.

Later Swamy has tweeted that "Success today with a step forward. CJI Bench agreed to finally hear the Jet Etihad WP for a decision on challenging the sell out of airspace."
