Naga elections: No nomination filed, last date is Feb 7th

Guwahati, Feb 05: Despite boycott threat and signing a declaration not to participate in elections till the Naga issue is resolved, the Election Commission has issued notification for filing nomination papers on January 31.

It has been five days but no party filed its nominations. BJP said that it will file nomination and contest elections though it too has signed the declaration, but has not filed nomination yet.

The last date for filing nominations is February 7. Polling is scheduled on February 27.

"No candidate has filed nomination papers in any of the 60 constituencies till Monday. The deadline for filing nominations ends at 3pm on February 7," said Nagaland chief electoral officer Abhijit Sinha.
