Amitabh Kant to hold his post till June 2019, extension approved

New Delhi, Feb 05: Amitabh Kant, CEO of Niti Aayog who was appointed as the chief executive officer of the government think tank on February 17, 2016 for a two-year term was given an extension of one more year. He will hold the post till June 30, 2019.

The order issued by the personnel ministry said that Amitabh Kant extension has been approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet. Kant is a 1980 batch IAS officer of Kerala cadre.

Before holding this post he was secretary of department of industrial policy and promotion.
