Maoists blasted a cell tower in Bhupalpally district

Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Feb 05: The Maoists blasted a cell tower in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district in Telangana after distributing pamphlets. Police have been alerted and security is increased in the Maoist-affected remote villages.

The cell tower belongs to Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. (BSNL). It was set up in remote Edira village of Venkatapuram mandal. Earlier, the Maoists had called for a bandh and released a pamphlet in the name of their district representative, Jagan.



They are protesting against the alleged highhandedness of Centre and State. The sudden blasting of the cell tower, after a lull in Maoist activities, is causing fear among the people.
