Indian Railways announces 26,000 jobs

New Delhi Feb 5: A good news for Unemployed youth. Indian Railways has issued notifications for recruitment of 26,000 Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) and Technician Posts. Officials have said that Interested candidates must register themselves at official website - indianrailways.gov.in. and the last date is March 5.

Eligibility criteria

Educational Qualification: Candidates should have the required educational/technical qualifications from recognized institute/university.

Age limit: All aspirants should be maximum 28 years and minimum 18 years. Relaxation in age will be provided as per government norms.

Pay scale: The starting salary offered is Rs 19,900 (Level 2 of 7th CPC pay matrix) plus other allowances as admissible.

The selection will be done in 4 stages, which will be the same for ALP as well as Technician.
First stage: CBT
Second stage: CBT
Computer-based aptitude test
Document verification

Officials added that "People interested in ALP job posts and qualified in the second stage CBT will have to take up a computer-based aptitude test. There shall be negative marking for incorrect answers in First and Second Stage CBT. 1/3rd of the marks allotted for each question shall be deducted for each wrong answer. There shall be no negative marking for Computer Based Aptitude Test."
