Telangana Govt to set up Clean Authority of Tokyo

Hyderabad, Feb 03: The Telangana government will set up clean authority on the lines of an existing agency in Tokoyo to address environmental issues, said State Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao here on Friday.

In an inaugural addressing at the 66th National Town and country planners congress 2018 being organized by the Institute of Town Planners, India (ITPI), the apex body of qualified professional town and country planners, here, Rama Rao said Telangana will be the first state in India to be creating its own clean authority.

The Telangana government had recently entered into a MoU with Clean Authority of Tokyo (CAT)in the field of municipal solid waste incineration facilities, he said.

"We are also going to adopt the same mechanism which is using by CAT and we will set up several waste-to-energy units mainly at towns and urban areas in the state," the Minister stated.
