Bandh observed in AU over special status for Andhra

Visakhapatnam, Feb 02: YSR Student Union on Thursday organized a bandh in Andhra University demanding special category status (SCS) for Andhra Pradesh state.

Members of the union went round the AU campus starting from AU Arts College, followed by Engineering, law, science and pharmacy colleges where the bandh was observed.

Union's state general secretary B Kantarao faulted Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for failure to implement the pre-poll promises which included SCS.

He also demanded immediate establishment of separate railway zone in north Andhra which would propel the development of the region.
