Congress Scores clean sweep In Rajasthan Bypolls

New Delhi, Feb 01: The results of Rajasthan and West Bengal by-elections have started coming out. Coming to Rajasthan, the Congress has won Mandalgarh and Alwar and Ajmer. The results are no less than a shock for the Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje ahead of assembly polls scheduled to be held later this year.

The first result came out with TMC candidate Sunil Singh clinching the Noapara constituency of West Bengal. The TMC has also secured the Ulberia Lok Sabha seat of West Bengal.

In Rajasthan, the competition was between the two major rivals the BJP and the Congress. However, the Congress completely washed out the incumbent BJP.

"Well done Rajasthan Congress! Proud of each and every one of you. This is a rejection of the BJP by the people of Rajasthan," tweeted Congress president Rahul Gandhi.

By-polls were called after the death of BJP lawmakers in the three seats.

"We are going to study the reasons, but bypolls don't reflect the full picture," said BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya.
