ACB raids on AP Commercial Tax Officer, Rs.100 Cr assets seized

Vijayawada, Jan 31: The Anti-Corruption Bureau sleuths have raided 20 houses at Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Guntur and Srikakulam based on the complaint that Additional Commissioner of Commercial Taxes department Laxmiprasad has assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
At present, Laxmiprasad is working as Additional Commissioner in the Commercial Taxes department at Vijayawada. Earlier, he worked as OSD to Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu.
He moved from Commercial Taxes department from OSD post after he was diagnosed with cancer. There are allegations that he amassed properties during 2006 and 2011.
Sources said that the ACB have identified properties worth Rs 100 crore as per market value.
